Process

The Innoveox technology has been developed and patented by France’s National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) with the following objectives:

  • - Simplicity and industrial durability (continuous)
  • - Economic competitiveness
  • - Mobility and miniaturization (the size of a container)

Safety

The entire Supercritical Water Oxidation technique is operated in a pressurized (< 250 bars) high-temperature (250°C < T < 580°C) liquid phase. The performance and safety of the Innoveox technique lie in the inconel reactor core and in the control of the Supercritical Water Oxidation process.

Two important points connected to the safety of the Innoveox technique are:

No energy is stored in the reactor

Under the operating conditions described above, the water density fluctuates between 0.8 and 0.1 kg per liter compared to the water density in the surrounding pressure and temperature conditions, which is equal to 1 kg per liter. This means that no energy is stored in the core of the reactor. In effect the water expands in the reactor in relation to the volume it would take up outside of the reactor. Under the operating conditions of the Innoveox technique, the water is condensed as it emerges from the reactor.

Oxygen management

The oxygen is managed under conventional operating conditions for gas providers.
